A reflection from a parishioner…

Theotokos, Exemplary MotherhoodOur parish recently completed a cleaning project for the Nativity. Everyone worked very hard to prepare the parish for Christ’s birth. The reason that this was a blessing was not that we cleaned the Church, but through our Stewardship of Time and Talents, we joined together, as a parish, to complete what Christ has always taught us – respect – understanding – compassion – fellowship – whether the Stewards were young or old, Serbian or not Serbian, spoke fluent English or spoke very little English – through Stewardship, those barriers were laid outside of the Church as we all joined together in a common effort.

As we face many challenges in our lives, let us always remember that through Jesus and our Church, we all become unified regardless of the differences we sometimes have. I pray that we can complete many more projects like this as I now better understand what the real benefit was.
